Denny’s: JBA completed multiple projects for Denny’s, Mother Butler’s Pie (Denny’s bakery) and other support departments. These programs involved the re-engineering of some of Denny’s cook line equipment and layouts along with the development of an outstanding staff scheduling system. Denny’s managers could insert guest count in quarter hour increments and out would print a solid schedule for cooks, prep team members, wait staff, etc. This system proved to save Denny’s almost 10% of their labor within the pilot stores. Denny’s then rolled out this JBA program chain wide.
Herbalife: JBA has completed several exciting projects for Herbalife. The largest was the complete design of Herbalife’s Memphis 150,000 square foot distribution center. This operation is designed to pick and pack and distribute over a million boxes per year coast to coast. This program involved the development of an Automation Symposium where we coordinated five of the world’s leading automation firms in a fashion to define the best practices within distribution. This exciting operation has implemented pick to light, voice picking, automation sortation and many other leading tools to support their growth.
CKE: Carl Karcher Enterprises has looked to JBA for solid industrial engineering support for over 30 years. Our last assignment involved the design development of the new CKE Ontario 200,000 square foot distribution center. This JBA assignment involved a substantial amount of analysis and communication with the City of Ontario to support the pre-construction and permit processing effort. This project required the evaluation of narrow aisle racking, wire guided forklifts and other advanced distribution tools.
