CILCO: CILCO manufactures interoculative devices that are utilized in eye surgery. This device manufacturing operation required a strict clean room environment. JBA did the initial block layout and then the detailed layout for both the office, manufacturing and labs.
Hancock Laboratories: Hancock manufactures heart valves out of pig’s hearts. This medical device manufacturing operation runs fully within a cleanroom environment. The owners of Hancock requested that the manufacturing operation be re-engineered for quality and productivity. Also they requested an environment where doctors and other visitors could view the fascinating process within through a series of windows outside of the cleanroom. This manufacturing design supported both the critical quality support and productivity issues while enhancing a very effective marketing concept.
Viasys: Viasys manufactures high quality breathing apparatuses that are utilized in all major hospitals. JBA’s involvement on this particular job was to design the gashouse, compressor house and hazmat facilities that are a critical part of the Viasys environment. This program involved a full assessment of the chemical requirements within the operation, the specification and support in hiring the appropriate Fire Life Safety Specialist, the heavy communication with the city and the architects and the overall coordination of multiple vendors.
