Facilities Design & Engineering

JBA supports the design and engineering of manufacturers, distribution organizations, and other complex facilities. We follow a proven approach fulfilling facility requirements and focus on solid measurable improvements during the re-engineering and/or relocation effort.

 

JBA works closely with the client in documenting current facilities and operations, often leveraging material handling and automation specialists, seeing a solid return on investment

 

Our team leverages over 200 years of facility planning and industrial engineering in design and re-engineering effort.

Construction Managment

John Barry & Associates oversees both the leasehold improvements within any current buildings as well as ground-up development.

 

One of the first things JBA does is assess any facility that a client is considering as their “home”. Each building has its unique characteristics that have a definitive effect on the cost to occupy.

 

Once a facility is selected, JBA looks to identify the manufacturing, assemblydistribution, and other parties required to collaborate to complete the space. Once this is defined, JBA develops a budget to support the construction plan.

 

In all cases, JBA looks to support the management and completion of the project in a disciplined, well-organized fashion; this requires the utilization of multiple JBA tools, reports, schedules, trackers, and other tools to drive to the construction completion.

Process Improvement

JBA’s background is heavy in industrial engineering and process improvement.

 

We focus on “Improve While You Move”. In many cases, we look to improve the process of manufacturing, assembly, and distribution in a proactive fashion early in the industrial space design.

 

JBA leverages the use of process planning, tools, process flow documentation, and the detailed evaluation of the improvements that may be considered within the new building.

 

During our travels internationally, we have had the opportunity of working with a wide range of automation levels; from low-level automation to the most sophisticated automatic sortation and other robotic systems. This brings a great deal of value to each client that we evaluate together the appropriate level of automation to support the required volume while controlling costs. With high volume growth, we can “stair-step” the implementation of various levels of automation relative to each level of growth.

Relocation Managment

IMPROVE WHILE YOU MOVE

 

When you move your company, there are hundreds if not thousands of details associated with the planning and orchestration of your move. JBA’s clients find that our hands-on, proactive effort in the planning and orchestration of their relocation projects their ongoing business and drives a seamless transition. We are extremely detailed in our relocation management processes, carefully noting and organizing furniture and equipment moved.

 

In general, relocations are stressful; our approach, tools, and systems are designed to organize your move and reduce stress. In many cases, we develop an in-house move management team that works closely with JBA.  We use the approach “train the trainer” to communicate clearly to all team members to ease the relocation program.
